SWITCH 50 Raising Graced Pacesetters for Marriage Ministry and the Marketplace
At a Press Conference held on Thursday 23rd April 2026, ahead of SWITCH 5.0, the General Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria, Rev. (Dr.) Sam Aboyeji, shared a compelling vision; one that goes beyond hosting another conference and instead speaks to shaping a generation.
He welcomed members of the press and stakeholders, noting that the Church values its partnership with the media in telling stories that inspire hope, transformation, and godly impact. The briefing, he explained, was not just to announce an event but to invite the public into a movement. SWITCH 5.0, an interdenominational convergence designed to equip people for meaningful influence in life and society.
According to him, SWITCH was established as a youth-focused yet inclusive program aimed at mentoring believers and raising leaders across three critical areas: Marriage, Ministry, and the Marketplace. These pillars, he emphasized, are deeply interconnected with each one shaping not only personal fulfillment but also the health of society at large.
He went on to highlight a growing concern: many individuals are thriving in one area of life while struggling in others. Some succeed in the marketplace but falter in marriage or lack spiritual grounding. SWITCH, therefore, seeks to restore balance by helping people build lives that are whole, not fragmented.
While addressing broader societal challenges, Rev. Dr Sam Aboyeji noted that rising moral and relational gaps, including issues within families, point to a deeper need for intentional guidance. He observed that potential without structure often leads to misdirection, which is why the Church is committed to creating systems that provide mentorship, discipleship, and accountability. These efforts, he added, extend beyond the church space into the home, with a strong emphasis on parenting and values based living.
He further clarified that institutions like marriage, while important, cannot on their own fix foundational issues without proper preparation. The focus, therefore, must shift toward building people, equipping them with the character and convictions needed to thrive before stepping into life’s major responsibilities.
SWITCH 5.0 as explained, is part of that intentional investment. Conceived in 2022, the platform serves as a strategic avenue for raising a new generation marked by excellence, integrity, and godliness. It is also closely aligned with the Church’s evangelistic mission which is to create an environment that draws people in, including those who may not yet have encountered Christ, and connecting them to purpose.
This year’s theme, “Graced Pacesetters,” reflects that vision. A pacesetter, he noted, leads by example and sets new standards. But beyond human effort, the emphasis on grace speaks to divine enablement; the kind that empowers individuals to rise above limitations and lead with impact in every sphere.
Rev. Dr Sam Aboyeji also expressed a deep burden for young people, describing them as both vibrant and full of potential, yet in need of direction. With shifting dynamics across churches and society, he noted that younger generations are increasingly at the forefront making it essential to guide them with clarity and intention. SWITCH, in this regard, is positioned as both a response and a responsibility.
This year, the conference will feature seasoned speakers, including Pastor Yemi Davids and Dr. Kola Adesina, alongside other respected leaders, all bringing insight across the conference’s core focus areas. Their role, he noted, is not only to inspire but to provide practical wisdom for living successfully in a way that honours God.
SWITCH 5.0 is scheduled to hold on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the National Headquarters of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria, Yaba, Lagos, starting at 9:00 a.m. The event is open to the public, particularly students, youths, and young adults seeking direction and growth.
In closing, the General Overseer reaffirmed the Church’s commitment to nation-building through raising godly leaders who will influence every sphere of society. As preparations continue, the Chairman Rev Sam O Salau have indicated that every effort is being made to ensure a meaningful and rewarding experience for all attendees.
What stands out clearly is this: SWITCH 5.0 is more than a date on the calendar. It is a call to alignment, to growth, and to a higher standard of living. In a time where many are searching for direction, it offers something both timely and timeless. It offers the opportunity to become not just successful but truly grounded and impactful.
SWITCH 5.0 would be holding on Saturday, 2nd May 2026, at Foursquare National Headquarters Church located at 62/66 Akinwunmi Street, Alagomeji, Yaba, Lagos. You can register on teh Foursquare website by clicking this link
