LIFE Theological Seminary, the foremost theological institution of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria, is celebrating 70 years of God’s faithfulness in equipping men and women for effective Christian ministry.

With the theme “70 Years of Training Men and Women for Effective Ministry,” this milestone marks seven decades of divine grace, academic excellence, and spiritual impact. The Seminary continues to fulfill its mission of raising spiritually grounded, theologically sound, and mission-driven leaders who are transforming lives across Nigeria, Africa, and beyond.

At a press conference held to kick off the anniversary, the Provost, Professor Cletus C. Orgu, expressed deep gratitude to God and all who have contributed to the Seminary’s journey of impact and growth.

“This 70th anniversary is more than a celebration of years—it’s a testimony of grace, growth, and global relevance,” said Professor Orgu. “LIFE Seminary remains committed to producing spiritually mature and mission-minded leaders who will shape the church of today and tomorrow.”

Founded in 1955 under the visionary leadership of Rev and Rev Mrs Harold Curtis missionaries of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel from Los Angeles, VCalifornia and pioneer of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria, LIFE Theological Seminary began with a clear and divine mandate—to train ministers who would faithfully serve the expanding Christian mission in Africa and beyond.

Seven decades later, that vision has produced thousands of alumni—pastors, missionaries, educators, church planters, and theologians—who are making lasting impacts across the globe.

“Our alumni are influencing communities, shaping nations, and engaging culture with the mind of Christ,” Professor Orgu noted. “This anniversary celebrates not just longevity, but lasting legacy.”

Beyond its enduring history, LIFE Theological Seminary stands out as a Bible-centered institution that promotes Christian conduct, moral excellence, and holistic ministerial formation.

Key distinctive features include:

A Bible-Centered Curriculum: Every program is rooted in sound biblical doctrine and practical theology.

A Strong Emphasis on Christian Character: Students are trained not only in knowledge but in integrity, service, and spiritual discipline.

A Renowned School of Music: The Seminary’s Music School is devoted to nurturing talented gospel musicians and worship leaders with both theological depth and musical skill.

A Conducive Learning Environment: The Seminary’s serene campus in Ikorodu provides a peaceful and spiritually enriching atmosphere for study and growth.
