The Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria has officially inaugurated the Board of Foursquare Communications—its strategic media and communications arm charged with overseeing and coordinating the Church’s communication efforts nationwide. The inauguration ceremony was held at 12 noon on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, in the National Office Boardroom, Yaba, Lagos.
The General Overseer, Rev. Dr. Sam Aboyeji, delivered a stirring exhortation titled “Changed by the Spirit,” in which he underscored the pivotal role of media and communications as a key mountain of influence in society. He noted that media and communications is one of the spheres where change is both rapid and constant, reinforcing the need for the Church to remain dynamic and strategic in its approach.
The newly inaugurated board is chaired by Rev. Paul Olagunju, Managing Director/CEO of Sunnet Systems Ltd and Zonal Superintendent of Foursquare, Jesutedo–VGC District. Other members of the board include:
• Deaconess Funke Oga (Vice Chairman)
• Pastor Alex Adebayo
• Deacon Wunmi Adeniyi
• Deacon Adegbenro Adebanjo
• Rev. Sam O. Salau
• Brother Ayo Obi Olufemi
• Brother Oluwadara Onipede
In alignment with the Next Gen Agenda under the Decade of Soaring vision of the General Overseer, the inclusion of vibrant young professionals on the board demonstrates the Church’s deliberate commitment to nurturing a new generation of leaders across strategic spheres of influence.
The National Secretary, Rev. Samson Alawode, presented the board’s terms of reference, which include:
• Developing comprehensive communication policies, protocols, and guidelines for the Church
• Establishing and maintaining standards for media outreach to enhance visibility and social media engagement
• Creating and updating the official Foursquare Nigeria website

• Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, media ethics, and data protection standards
Rev. Alawode also emphasized that all media teams operating under various Foursquare committees will now function within the structure of Foursquare Communications. The board, he stated, has been vested with the authority to regulate, supervise, and where necessary, deactivate any social media handles or brands that operate outside the approved Foursquare standards and identity guidelines.
In his remarks, the National Treasurer, Elder Felix Omofuma, expressed optimism about the future of the board, stating his expectation that Foursquare Communications will effectively package, deliver, and amplify the General Overseer’s messages for broader reach and deeper impact.
In his acceptance speech, Rev. Paul Olagunju, speaking on behalf of the board, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the General Overseer and leadership of the Church for the trust and responsibility bestowed upon them. He assured all present that the board will leave no stone unturned in executing its mandate with excellence, innovation, and kingdom focus.
The inauguration marks a significant milestone in the Church’s pursuit of excellence in media and communications, reinforcing its mission to effectively proclaim the gospel across Nigeria and the world.
