General Overseer’s Profile
Rev. Dr. Sam Aboyeji is the General Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria. He is a preacher and teacher of God’s word who graduated from LIFE Theological Seminary, Ikorodu - Nigeria. He holds an MBA degree in Financial Management and Accounting from the University of Lagos, Nigeria having obtained his first degree in Economics from the University of Ilorin. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (FCS) and holds an Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree (Honoris Causa) from Crowther Graduate Theological Seminary, Abeokuta, Nigeria.
Rev. Dr. Aboyeji left the employment of the Anglo-Dutch oil giant, Shell after nearly 20 years of service for full time ministry in 2010. Prior to this, he had worked in the premier stock broking firm, Nigerian Stock Brokers Limited - NSL, a subsidiary of the premier merchant bank, NAL Merchant Bank, now Sterling Bank Plc.
On assumption of office as General Overseer in November 2019, Rev. Aboyeji outlined the core vision of his administration themed the Decade of SOARING as Outreach, Inreach and NextGen. This vision is being vigorously pursued in addition to sustaining the successes of past administrations.
He is the author of many spiritually impacting books and the Convener of the weekly day-break Monday Morning Prayer Program “POSSESSING YOUR WEEK WITH PRAYERS”, a program that has attracted audience from Africa, Europe, as well as America.
Rev. Dr. Sam Aboyeji currently represents Foursquare Nigeria, a permanent member nation of the Global Council of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel (ICFG) based in Los Angeles, USA, the parent church for all Foursquare churches worldwide. He is also a ranking executive of both the West African Missions Council of Foursquare as well as Pan African Council.
He is married to Rev. (Mrs.) Olabisi Aboyeji, a qualified Medical Laboratory Scientist who has worked along with him in full time ministry since 1993 and they are blessed with both spiritual and biological children and grandchildren.
